Shuttle buses replaced AirTrain service to New York City's Kennedy Airport Monday afternoon because of a smoke condition on the tracks.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says all trains were brought to stations and service was suspended around 5:45 p.m. Trains resumed service after midnight Tuesday but passengers were reporting delays in the morning.
The Port Authority advised travelers to allow extra time to get to their destinations and said they should consider transportation alternatives.
Meanwhile, a snowstorm battering the northeastern U.S. is delaying some flights destined for Kennedy by about 90 minutes.
The airport has tallied about 40 flight cancellations and 375 delays as of 7 p.m. Monday, according to flight tracking site FlightAware.
