The stranger who police say sneaked into a 16-year-old girl's Bronx bedroom in the middle of the night and stood over her, then grabbed her hand and placed it over his genitals, has been arrested, authorities say.
Jamel McIver, 26, of the Bronx, broke into the girl's home near Kelly Street and Leggett Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. Monday, according to the NYPD.
Authorities say the girl woke up to find the man standing over her. Then he grabbed her hand and made her touch him. She broke free from his grasp and he ran off. No physical injuries were reported.
McIver was arrested early Wednesday. He's charged with attempted rape, burglary, sex abuse and forcible touching, police said. Attorney information for McIver wasn't immediately clear.
