5 Seriously Hurt in 3-Car Collision Outside Six Flags in New Jersey

Five people were hospitalized with serious injuries after a three-car wreck on a highway outside of a Six Flags theme park in New Jersey, authorities say.

State police say two cars collided after an attempted pass, and one of the vehicles crossed the road's dividing line on the highway near the Jackson Township amusement park Sunday.

The Asbury Park Press reports the car that crossed the dividing line then collided head-on with a third vehicle.

State police say the crash closed both lanes of Route 537 for about four hours and they are continuing to investigate.
