A 27-year-old man was shot at a Brooklyn McDonald's drive-thru, law enforcement sources tell NBC 4 New York.

The NYPD says gunfire rang out at around 4 p.m. on Jamaica Avenue in Cypress Hill and sent customers dining at the fast-food chain scrambling, both inside and outside.

Sources say a person walked up to a car in the drive-thru window and shot the passenger in the arm and torso. The car sped off and stopped in nearby Bed-Stuy, where paramedics caught up with them.

The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition, according to police.

Following the shooting, the apparent gunman allegedly fled the scene, sources say. No arrests have been made and there was no immediate description of the shooter.

Images from the scene showed officers canvassing the fast food restaurant.

The motive behind the shooting is unclear, but police said the victim was targeted. The investigation is ongoing.
