Sexual Predator Sought After Grabbing Jogger in Connecticut Park

A woman was sexually attacked multiple times early Friday when a man claiming he had a knife grabbed her off the jogging track at Cove Island Park in Stamford, Connecticut, according to police. Police are on the hunt for the assailant.

The 30-year-old woman was jogging at 5:20 a.m., when the man came up behind her, grabbed her off the track and attacked her, police said. He then dragged her to the water line and attacked her again in what police described as a case of prolonged abuse.

The victim contacted police and she was transported to Stamford Hospital.

Police said they are looking for a stocky man, between 35 and 40 years old, who stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall.

His breath smelled of alcohol and he was described as having a protruding stomach and an unshaven beard, authorities said. The man was wearing a dark, fleece sweatshirt, gym-style shorts, black sneakers and a dark-colored baseball hat.

Anyone who saw the man in the park area in the last few days is urged to call police.
