9/11 Families Protest Plans for Remains

Relatives say museum and government officials want to bury more than 900 human remains 70 feet below ground underneath the National September 11 Memorial & Museum

Family members who lost loved ones in the Sept. 11 attacks are speaking out against a plan to bury unidentified remains beneath the future Sept. 11 museum.

Some held signs across from the World Trade Center site Tuesday saying the remains were not a "tourist attraction."

The group says museum and government officials want to bury more than 900 human remains 70 feet below ground underneath the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

Rosemary Cain said: "To a society that doesn't respect the dead, I say beware." She lost her firefighter son at the trade center.

Families say they are outraged that the museum could sell tickets to an establishment where their loved ones are buried.
