Security Shortage for the Coy Clintons?

The sleepy upstate New York town of Rhinebeck is anticipating what could be the biggest event in its history this weekend -- the former first daughter’s wedding.

But what happens when a former US president and the current US secretary of state are in town? Former NYPD Detective Thomas Ruskin says, “The security detail needed will be massive.”
But the Rhinebeck Police Department isn’t usually asked to protect A-listers like President Obama and Oprah Winfrey, who are rumored to be guests at the wedding. So some spectators are wondering if the town can adequately guard them.
Ruskin, who worked with the secret service to protect Bill Clinton when he made presidential visits to New York City, says part of the issue is “the secretive nature of the wedding planning… it would cause more chaos on the small town roads.”
Though it would be assumed to be the talk of the town, nobody is talking, much.
At the Rhinebeck Town Meeting Monday night, the board voted to allocate an extra $2500 for local police coverage this weekend. But they're still being very reserved about saying whether or not Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky will say their vows.
The New York State Police confirmed that they are in the process of putting together a traffic detail to help with the crowds in Rhinebeck, because "there will obviously be more people there this weekend."

But they stopped short of confirming that there will in fact be a celebrity-studded wedding.
