Another Mean Teen: 2nd Girl Arrested for Scorching Kitten

The ASPCA said the kitten had "an agonizing death"

A 14-year-old girl has been arrested for burning a kitten to death in an oven -- making her the second teen this month charged with such a crime, the ASPCA said.

Joe Pentangelo, an official with The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, said the kitten had "an agonizing death," with the animal crying and scratching at the oven door in the Bronx apartment.

Named Tiger Lily, the kitten belonged to a former roommate of one of the teens.

After a fallout, authorities say the two broke into the former roommate's apartment last month, poured bleach on various items and slit the sofa and electrical cords.

The 14-year-old was charged Wednesday with aggravated animal cruelty and burglary. A 17-year-old had previously been charged with arson, burglary, criminal trespass and aggravated animal cruelty.
