New Jersey State Police troopers say the crash took place around 11 a.m. Sunday on the westbound section of Route 80 in Paterson. Police did not immediately identify the victims of the crash.
Authorities are working to identify the cause of the crash. A small group of people identified as family and friends of a victim gathered on the overpass above the site of the crash Sunday afternoon.
Lanes were shut down for hours.
