Police Make DWI Arrest in Crash That Injured 2 Officers

A woman was arrested Saturday after her car struck a police vehicle that injured two officers, police said.

The 21-year-old woman was arrested on charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and vehicular assault, police said. It wasn't immediately clear if she had a lawyer.

Officers from the Ramapo and Suffern police departments were speaking to some civilians on the side of Route 59 in Suffern shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday when the woman's car struck a stopped police vehicle and pushed it into two officers, who were thrown off their feet, according to the Ramapo police. The driver's car rolled over.

One officer was hospitalized for internal injuries. The driver and a second officer were treated and released.
