Robbers With Baseball Bat Beat Couple During Home Invasion: Prosecutors

A couple walked in on a home invasion and were beaten by the robbers, prosecutors said Sunday.

The 37-year-old man and 47-year-old woman came home Saturday night to find two robbers inside the Holmdel house, Monmouth County prosecutors said.

The attackers rushed toward them, beat the man with a baseball bat and punched the woman, prosecutors said. The couple was then bound together in the home, prosecutors said.

The robbers, who had their faces covered, went through the house and stole cash and jewlery before fleeing, prosecutors said.

Both were treated for facial injures and released, prosecutors said.
