A rainy forecast for Memorial Day in the tri-state area has prompted many communities in the tri-state region to cancel parades.
On Long Island:
- BOHEMIA: The parade is canceled, but the Memorial Day ceremony is moved inside the fire department headquarters.
- MERRICK: The parade will begin as planned, weather permitting.
- ROCKVILLE CENTRE: The parade is canceled.
In New Jersey:
- BRANCHBURG: The parade scheduled in Neshanic is canceled.
- BRICK: The parade is canceled, but a Memorial Day ceremony is planned at 10 a.m. in Town Hall.
- DUMONT: The parade is canceled.
- FLEMINGTON: The borough's parade is canceled.
- HIGHLAND PARK: The parade is canceled.
- LAKEWOOD: The parade is canceled.
- LIVINGSTON: The parade is canceled.
- LYNDHURST: The parade is canceled, but the Veterans Alliance plans a ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Senior Citizens Building.
- MAPLEWOOD: The parade is canceled, but a Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. in Town Hall.
- MIDDLE TOWNSHIP: The parade is canceled.
- MILLBURN: The parade is canceled.
- NEW BRUNSWICK: The parade is canceled.
- NORWOOD: The parade is canceled.
- ROCHELLE PARK: The parade is canceled, but Memorial Day services areea planned at 9:30 a.m. at the American Legion.
- ROSELLE: The parade is canceled.
- ROXBURY: The Parade canceled.
- RUTHERFORD: The parade is canceled, but a wreath toss and rifle salute ceremony is planned at 8 a.m. at the Union Avenue bridge and a rifle salute is scheduled at 8:30 a.m. at Sunset Park.
- SADDLE RIVER: The parade is canceled.
- SAYREVILLE: The parade is canceled.
- UNION: The parade is canceled.
- VERONA: The parade is canceled, but the mayor and council will conduct a wreath laying ceremony at 10 a.m. in the Civic Center.
In Connecticut:
- Berlin Memorial Day Parade canceled. There will be an indoor service at the American Legion at 9 a.m.
- Bethany Memorial Day Parade cancelled. A ceremonial service will take place in the Town Hall gym at 10 a.m.
- Clinton Memorial Day Parade canceled.
- East Hampton Memorial Day Parade cancelled. A ceremony will be held at the High School at 9 a.m.
- East Hartford Memorial Day Parade canceled.
- East Haven will hold ceremonies indoors at the East Haven Senior Center at 91 Taylor Avenue. Program begins at 11:30 a.m.
- Granby Memorial Day Parade scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
- Guilford Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies canceled.
- Hamden Memorial Day Parade canceled. There will be an indoor ceremony at Hamden Middle School at 11 a.m.
- Madison Memorial Day Parade cancelled. There will be a ceremony at the American Legion Hall at 43 Bradley Road at 10:30 a.m.
- Manchester Memorial Day Parade canceled.
- New Britain memorial services postponed until Tuesday at Central Park at 11 a.m. Memorial Day Parade is still scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
- Noank Memorial Day Parade canceled.
- North Stonington Memorial Day Parade canceled. Services will be held at 10 a.m. at The Grange
- Norwalk Memorial Day Parade canceled.
- South Windsor Memorial Day Parade is canceled. There will also be a ceremony at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.
- Trumbull Memorial Day Parade cancelled. There will be a service at the Vietnam Memorial at 7:30 a.m. and a service at the All Wars Memorial at 8:30 a.m.
- Vernon Memorial Day Parade canceled.
- Wallingford Memorial Day Parade scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
- Watertown Memorial Day Parade canceled.
- West Hartford Memorial Day Parade canceled.
- West Haven Memorial Day Parade postponed to Sunday, June 5
