Stranger Throws 84-Year-Old Woman to Ground, Calls Her ‘White B—-‘ in Unprovoked Midtown Attack: NYPD

A man randomly shoved an 84-year-old woman to the ground on a midtown street and called her a "white b----" before running away last week, authorities say.

The NYPD said the woman was walking in the area of West 43rd Street and Ninth Avenue at around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, when a man came up from behind and knocked her to the ground, yelling the slur but saying nothing else.

The man then ran off southbound on Ninth Avenue.

Police said no words were exchanged between the woman and the man; they didn't know one another and the attack was entirely unprovoked.

The victim was taken to the hospital with bruises and scrapes to her right knee and elbow, according to police. She's in stable condition.

The suspect is described as about 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-7 tall. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
