New York City officials say the patient who came down with a fever after returning from one of the west African countries stricken by the Ebola virus during the 2014 outbreak does not have the virus, and has been safely discharged from the hospital.
The unidentified patient, who recently traveled from Guinea, was taken to Bellevue Hospital Monday night, according to the NYC Health Department. He had no known Ebola exposure, and did not have the clinical findings associated with Ebola risk.
The virus was ruled out as a diagnosis, and he was released from the hospital.
