Police Issue Wanted Poster in Shooting Near Harlem Supermarket

Police are posting wanted flyers in the hopes of locating a teenage suspect in the mid-evening street shooting that left two pedestrians injured and a city bus marked with bullet holes earlier this week.

The posters, released by police Wednesday, identify the suspect as 19-year-old Malcolm Smith. He's described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call (212) 690-6315.

The development follows two days after a 76-year-old woman and 51-year-old man were shot by ricochet bullets as they walked in front of a Key Food supermarket near the intersection of West 139th Street and Lenox Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. Both survived.

At the time, police said the shots had been fired by multiple people.
