Fake Cops Handcuffed, Robbed 60-Year-Old Man in Bronx: NYPD

Two men who pretended to be police officers handcuffed a 60-year-old man and threatened him with a gun Friday in the Bronx, police say.

The men knocked on the victim’s apartment door in the University Heights section of the Bronx around 11 a.m. and said they were cops, according to the NYPD.

But once they were inside, they handcuffed the victim at gunpoint and robbed him, police said.

Investigators found one of the suspects in a nearby alleyway and they were able to arrest him. Police did not identify him.

The other suspect fled, leaving the victim’s belongings behind.

Police released surveillance video of the second suspect (above). Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
