Police ID Body Found Dangling From Clothing Donation Bin

Police have identified the man whose body was discovered last weekend dangling from a clothing donation bin in southern New Jersey.

Police say 58-year-old transient James Shay was found dead Sunday afternoon partially lodged in the opening of the bin, which was located in the parking lot of a Pemberton Township convenience store.

The Burlington County medical examiner ruled that Shay was accidentally killed from "compression of the neck."

Police say the Browns Mills man was attempting to retrieve clothes from the bin when he lost his footing and slipped, causing him to become trapped.

A woman shopper came upon the lifeless body and immediately notified police. Her husband attempted to free Shay from the bin but he was already dead.
