Police: Pit Bull Bites 4-Year-Old NJ Boy's Face

A dog turned on the child when he tried to stop two dogs in the home from fighting

Authorities say a 4-year-old New Jersey boy was bitten in the face when he tried to separate two pit bulls that were fighting in his family's home.

The Jersey Journal reports that the child was treated for three lacerations on the right side of his cheek. Officials said the boy did not appear to be seriously injured.

Police responded to the Bayonne home around 9 p.m. Monday and were told by the boy's mother that one of the dogs turned on the child when he tried to stop the dogs from fighting.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.
