Personal Trainer Accused of Beating 6-Year-Old

Trainer featured on TV for helping police officer lose weight

A personal trainer featured on TV for helping a police officer lose weight is charged with beating his girlfriend's 6-year-old son with weightlifting belts.

The boy was treated for lacerations and bruises.

The trainer, 31-year-old Anthony Badalamenti, was arraigned on charges of second-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

A judge ordered him to stay jailed on $100,000 bond or $50,000 cash. Badalamenti's girlfriend, 29-year-old Jessica Muniz, faces the same charges and is also being held.

Badalamenti's workout regimen helped a Long Island police officer lose nearly half his body weight on NBC's reality show "The Biggest Loser."

Attorneys for the couple could not immediately be reached.

Landlord Joe Salerno says he called police after hearing the boy scream and plead for mercy.
