Peephole Shooting Hits Man in Eye: Police

A man was shot in the eye when he looked through the peephole of a Bronx apartment on Saturday morning, police said. 

The 56-year-old man heard a knock on the door of the apartment on Castle Hill Avenue shortly after 6 a.m., the NYPD said. 

When he looked through the peephole of the locked door, he was shot in the eye, police said. 

He was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition. 

It wasn't clear whether he was the intended victim or whether he lived at the apartment, police said.
