PATH Service Resumes After Broken Rail Halts Service Between Manhattan, Hoboken

PATH service has resumed after a broken rail forced officials to suspend service between Hoboken and both terminals in Manhattan Friday morning.

Service from Hoboken to stations on West 33rd Street and the World Trade Center Center resumed at about 9 a.m., about an hour and a half after the broken rail halted service on the busy mass transit lines at the height of the morning rush.

New Jersey Transit was cross-honoring PATH tickets at New York Penn Station and at its station in Hoboken, and buses were also used to ferry stranded straphangers.

Photos posted to social media showed throngs of frustrated commuters waiting outside the station in Hoboken Friday morning.
