Authorities say a confrontation in the parking lot of a northern New Jersey restaurant ended with shots fired and two men hospitalized in critical condition.
Paterson police say the shooting outside the Banana King was reported around 4 a.m. Friday. Responding officers did not find any victims at the scene, but they soon learned that two men had gone to a hospital to seek treatment for wounds they suffered in the confrontation.
The 25- and 27-year-old men — identified only as Paterson residents — were listed in critical condition. But further details about the shooting and their injuries were not released.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
No arrests have been made.
