All lanes on Interstate 80 in Hackensack have reopened more than 12 hours after a tanker flipped over, shutting down that section of highway and creating an abject nightmare for drivers who use the busy roadway.
The cleanup of a fuel spill following Thursday night's crash involving a tanker truck and car snarled Friday morning's commute.
The westbound local and express lanes were closed while workers offloaded the fuel and righted the truck. Express lanes on the east side of the highway also were closed. All had reopened by about 11 a.m. Friday.
The crash occurred Thursday night near exit 65. Two people were taken to a hospital and are in stable condition.
