A 95-year-old woman died in a two-alarm fire at a home in Brooklyn on Saturday, officials said.
Two homes in Canarsie, at 1358 and 1362 East 93rd Street, were on fire when officials responded to the scene on Saturday afternoon, police and the FDNY said.
Anna Barthelemy, who lived at 1358 East 93rd Street, was found in the basement of her home after the fire was extinguished, the NYPD said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person and a firefighter both sustained minor injuries in the fire, according to the FDNY.
The fire doesn't appear to be suspicious, but an investigation is ongoing, according to police.
One of Barthelemy's family members said the fire may have started when a television in the basement exploded, but the FDNY hadn't determined the cause of the fire as of Saturday evening.
