While the struggles to save Broadway earned the attention of "Saturday Night Live" this past weekend, ("Wait, wait, I've got it. We put can put on a big show with lavish costumes and huge expensive sets. We'll charge like $150 a ticket!") Off-Broadway is taking a different tack to fill seats.
For two weeks, all the unsold tickets at 26 Off-Broadway tickets will go on sale for $20 at 20 minutes before curtain. All you have to do is head to the box office and say “20at20.”
Not a bad deal considering seats at the Atlantic Theater Company's production of Martin McDonagh's " The Cripple of Inishmann" normally cost $65.
The 20at20 deal will run from January 26 through February 8 at shows including "Sleepwalk With Me," "Stomp," "Forbidden Broadway" "The Fantasticks," "Aristocrats," "The Marvelous Wonderettes," "Gazillion Bubble Show," and "Shipwrecked! An Entertainment."
