An NYPD officer was taken to the hospital after being hit in the head with a brick, police say.

The officer was taken to Wyckoff Hospital after the brick struck him at a home under construction around Maspeth Avenue and 59th Street in Queens just after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

He suffered from a deep cut to his head and needed stitches, police said. He is in stable condition and his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening. 

Police said two men have been arrested. Cops said the officer was responding to a complaint call at the construction site when he was hit with the brick. 

Officials haven't said whether the officer was targeted or not.
