The Westchester County District Attorney's Office said John Telesca, 37, was arrested at his Port Chester home Thursday morning.

Telesca is a patrol officer assigned to the Bronx. As of late last year, he was part of the 52nd Precinct; a Dec. 2018 photo in the Norwood News shows him receiving a citation at a precinct event from City Councilman Fernando Cabrera.

The DA's office said Telesca, whose father is the former chief of the Port Chester police department, allegedly had at least 60 images of kids ages 8 to 13 on his devices, as well as images shared by email.

He faces charges of both promoting and possessing obscene sexual performances by a child.

Telesca was released on $5,000 bail, and the NYPD said he had been suspended without pay. Sources told News 4 the six-year member of the police department is married and has a family of his own.
