Video Shows Man Who Climbed Through Woman's Window, Exposed Himself, Police Say

Surveillance video obtained exclusively by NBC 4 New York shows the man police believe snuck into a woman’s Bushwick apartment through an open window and exposed himself.

The video shows the man bolting from the building after the home invasion near Greene and Irving avenues early Saturday morning.

Police now believe the man somehow got onto the building’s roof and went down the fire escape and through the open window just before 7 a.m.

The 30-year-old woman was asleep when the man slipped into her third-floor apartment. She woke up to find him exposing himself, police said. He tried to get into bed with her but she screamed for her roommate, who came face-to-face with the man before he dashed from the building.

The surveillance video shows him running towards Irving Avenue, where he takes a left.

During a press conference Thursday, NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said police are working to create a sketch of the suspect. He said

The woman was not hurt, but neighbors said the home invasion has them unnerved.

“It’s shocking,” Bushwick resident Al Schwartz said. “Very, very shocking. There’s no words.”
