Vandal Takes Bulldozer for Joyride in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Topples City Vehicle

A vandal stole a bulldozer and drove it through a section of Brooklyn Bridge Park, trashing a city vehicle and other items at the site, police said.

Police believe that a construction worker accidentally left keys in the bulldozer on Friday night.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, someone found the keys in the bulldozer and took it for a joyride, toppling a parks police vehicle and scattering debris near Pier 2 and Joralemon Street.

The scene of destruction was discovered around 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Police said it’s not known if the vandal intentionally toppled the Nissan sedan. An investigation is ongoing.
