Cops Release New Surveillance Video in Slashing of Woman in Wheelchair

Police released new surveillance footage of a man suspected of slashing a woman in a wheelchair in New York City.

The woman needed 50 stiches after she was slashed in the face by the suspect in what police are calling a random attack. 

The new video released Friday shows the man walking in front of a business on Lexington Avenue. 

The 42-year-old woman was outside of a business on East 125th Street in East Harlem early Sunday when the man slashed her across the face with an unknown object around 3 a.m.

Police said the victim and her attacker didn’t know each other and that they had no altercation prior to the slashing. 

The suspect is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s.
