Fewer Major Felonies Last Year in NYC's Largest Parks: NYPD

The NYPD says there were 11 percent fewer felony crimes in the city's largest parks last year.

The city recorded 369 major felonies in 31 of its biggest parks in 2014. That compares to 415 in 2013.

It's the first decline since 2011.

However, The Wall Street Journal says last year's figure is still higher than every year between 2009 and 2012.
