NYC Mayor, Hillary Clinton Taking Heat Over Comedy Skit

Bill de Blasio joked he was running on "CP time" when Hillary Clinton mocked him for taking so long to endorse her

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton are taking heat over a comedy skit that some people feel was racially insensitive.

In a scripted scene during the Inner Circle Show charity event in New York Saturday, Clinton mocked the mayor for taking so long to endorse her.

He responded: "Sorry Hillary. I was running on CP time."

That seemed to be a reference to "colored-people time," a term sometimes used as a stereotype about black people.

Leslie Odom Jr., a black actor who plays Aaron Burr in the Broadway smash "Hamilton" was in the skit too.

He pretended to be offended, saying "I don't like jokes like that, Bill."

Clinton then interjected: "Cautious politician time. I've been there."

The mayor said in a CNN interview that people were missing the point.
