Man Stole Thousands of Dollars in Makeup From Drugstores in Manhattan

Police are searching for a man they say stole thousands of dollars in cosmetics from three drugstores in Murray Hill in less than two months.

After looking over surveillance footage, the NYPD believes one man lifted more than $8,000 worth of cosmetics from the stores from early March to late April.

On March 3, the man stole nearly $1,000 worth of cosmetics from a Duane Reade on Second Avenue. On the same day he stole another $1,700 worth of cosmetics from a Duane Reade on Third Avenue, according to police.

The man then dropped off the radar for about a month before stealing more than $2,200 from the same Duane Reade on Third Avenue in early April.

Police say he targeted the Third Avenue Duane Reade yet again a few weeks later, nabbing about $2,500 in cosmetics.

He also made off with more than $600 in makeup from a CVS on Third Avenue, according to police.

The NYPD says the man is in his 20s and has long black hair and a mustache.
