Man Slashed in Robbery on 2 Train in the Bronx: NYPD

The victim was slashed in his face and his backpack was stolen

A man was slashed in his face during a robbery on the subway in the Bronx, police say.

The man was on a southbound 2 train at the Jackson Avenue station around 1:15 a.m. when two men came up to him.

The victim was slashed in his face and his backpack was stolen. One of the robbers may have taken out a gun at some point, police said. 

The victim had non-life-threatening injuries. It's unclear if he was taken to a hospital. 

The robbers, who police say are in their early 20s, took off after the slashing.
