Man Punches 14-Year-Old Boy in Face Then Steals $7 and Phone: NYPD

Police are searching for the man who went up to a teenage boy in Queens and punched him in the face before stealing $7 and a phone from him. 

The 14-year-old boy was walking near Astoria Boulevard and 44th Street in Astoria late last month when the suspect came up from behind him.

The man punched him in his face and demanded his valuables, police said. The boy handed over $7 and his iPhone 4.

The 14-year-old was expected to recover from his injuries. 

Police released surveillance video of the suspect on Friday. They said he’s in his early to mid-20s and had a beard at the time of the robbery.
