A man shot and killed his girlfriend at her Brooklyn apartment before turning the gun on himself, police say.
Felicita Sotillo, 38, was shot and killed at her Gates Avenue apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant early Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.
Officers responding to a 911 call just after 1 a.m. found Sotillo unconscious with a gunshot wound to her head.
A 41-year-old man, who police said was Sotillo’s boyfriend, was also found unconscious inside the apartment with a gunshot wound to his head.
EMS pronounced both Sotillo and her boyfriend dead at the scene. His identity has been withheld pending the notification of his family.
Police recovered a firearm at the apartment. They said an investigation is ongoing and described the shooting as a murder-suicide.
There was a heavy police presence at the scene Wednesday morning. A man on the street was being comforted by several other people as he appeared to say, “Can I see my mother?” several times.
