Man in Spiderman Suit Robs NYC Bank, Pharmacy: Police

For some reason the suspect puts on a Spiderman mask after entering a bank, giving cameras a clear view of his face

A man in a Spiderman outfit has been robbing businesses in New York City, police say.

The man has been connected with two robberies this week, according to the NYPD, who said he was wearing a Spiderman mask during both robberies.

The first robbery was at the East Harlem Pharmacy on Second Avenue in East Harlem on Monday morning. Police said the man jumped over a countertop, pulled out a box cutter and demanded drugs. The employee refused and the man took off in the Spiderman outfit.

The man struck again on Tuesday afternoon, walking into an HSBC Bank on East Fordham Road in the Bronx and handing a teller a note demanding cash, police said. The teller complied and gave the man money.

Surveillance video captured the man at the HSBC bank, police said. Strangely, the suspect puts on the Spiderman mask after entering the bank, giving cameras a clear view of his face.

The NYPD said the man was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and a Spiderman mask.
