Man Hit, Critically Injured by Car in Brooklyn; Driver in Custody: NYPD

A man was fighting for his life Thursday morning after he was hit by a car in Brooklyn hours earlier, police say.

The 48-year-old man was walking near Stanley and Van Siclen avenues in East New York on Wednesday night when he was struck by a Nissan at 9 p.m.

The man was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with serious injuries to his head.

A 60-year-old woman who was driving the Nissan remained at the scene, according to the FDNY.

She was eventually taken into custody on suspicion of DWI and is awaiting chargesl, police said. 

Police were still investigating at the scene of the crash early Thursday morning.
