Man Critically Injured in Fire at Bronx High-Rise: FDNY

A man was critically injured in a fire at a high-rise apartment building, fire officials said.

The fire broke out around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at 30 Richmond Plaza, a 46-story building that overlooks the Harlem River.

The man was inside his third floor apartment when the fire started.

He was rescued by firefighters and rushed to Bronx Lebanon Hospital in very critical condition, the FDNY said.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control around 8:45 p.m.

It’s unclear how the fire started. The NYPD and FDNY are investigating.
