1 Dead, 1 Hurt in Shooting at Red Hook Houses: NYPD

One man was killed and another man was injured following a shooting at the Red Hook Houses in Brooklyn Sunday night, police said.

Police officers received a call of a man shot just after 10 p.m. at a building on Columbia Street in the housing complex. 

When police arrived, they found a 27-year-old man in a first-floor apartment who had been shot in his chest or stomach.

Officers also found a second victim inside the lobby of a nearby apartment building on Columbia Street. The 33-year-old man had also been shot in the chest or stomach.

Both of the men were taken to Methodist Hospital. The 33-year-old man died from his injuries and the 27-year-old man was listed in stable condition, according to police.

The identity of the man who died has been withheld pending family notification.

There were no arrests as of Sunday night.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
