Teen Duo Shopping With Fake Money Arrested After Hit-and-Run: Police

Two teenagers tried to shop with movie money on Long Island, then fled in a vehicle and struck a parked car and a pedestrian, police say.

Sarah Abraham, 19, and Krystal Joushan, 19, were arrested Wednesday after they allegedly entered several stores in Levittown and tried to pay with fake $100 bills. They also allegedly tried to exchange the fake cash for real money.

Someone at one of the stores noticed the bills had “For Motion Picture Use Only” printed on them, and the teens took off, according to police.

The teens drove into a parked car and a pedestrian as they were driving away, police said.

The owner of the parked car followed the teens to a home on Crescent Lane, where they were arrested.

Police say Abraham had used one of the fake bills at Europa Supermarket in Mineola on Tuesday.

She has been charged with petit larceny. Joushan has been charged with petit larceny and leaving the scene of an accident.

The two were scheduled to be arraigned in Hempstead on Thursday.

It wasn’t immediately known if they had attorneys.
