Race to New York Primary: Clinton Talks Guns on Long Island; Trump, Sanders and Kasich Upstate

Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump and John Kasich will campaign in New York on Monday

With the New York primary a little more than a week away, Hillary Clinton was talking about gun violence at a Long Island theater before attending a campaign dinner in Suffolk County. Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump and John Kasich were all at campaign events upstate.

Democrats:

Hillary Clinton: A day after she and Bill visited churches in New York City, Clinton spoke about gun violence at a discussion at the Landmark on Main theater in Port Washington. She was joined by Democratic congressman Steve Israel for the 2 p.m. event.

In the evening, Clinton headed to Holbrook for the Suffolk County Democratic Committee’s annual spring dinner.

Bernie Sanders: It’s upstate and away for Sanders as he holds back-to-back rallies in Binghamton, Albany and Buffalo. The trip comes after he spent much of the weekend in New York City, including a rally on his home block in Brooklyn and another at Coney Island.

Sanders appeared at his first rally Monday morning in Binghamton. His next appearance was in the afternoon in Albany followed by an evening rally in Buffalo.

Republicans:

John Kasich is holding two town halls in the Capital Region. He was in Troy at 2:30 p.m. before heading up to Saratoga Springs at 5:30 p.m.

Donald Trump will be in Albany. He’s holding a campaign rally in the city at 7 p.m.

Ted Cruz will be in California and has no events planned for our area.
