Father Arrested After Beating Daughter, Pulling Her Hair at Park: Police

A man was arrested after he was seen pummeling his 5-year-old daughter and pulling her by her hair at a Long Island park, police said.

Stanley Frederique, 36, was spotted beating the girl as the two of them left Elmont Road Park in Elmont on Wednesday night, according to police.

Frederique allegedly punched her in the head repeatedly with a closed fist as he pulled her by her hair and arm.

Someone called police, and Frederique was located a short time later. He was placed under arrest without incident, police said.

The girl was found with her mother at her mother’s workplace. She was taken to an area hospital to be treated for pain to her head.

Frederique was expected to be arraigned in Hempstead later on Thursday. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney who could comment on the case.
