Car Slams Into Long Island Home; Driver Arrested

The white sedan slammed into the North Columbus Avenue home around 11 p.m. in Freeport.

Skid marks on the front yard led up to the car, which was crunched up against the brick house next to a sizeable hole.

A family of four was inside the home, but no one was in the living room, where the car caused the most damage.

Karlene Cambridge McCarthy was awake inside the home when the car hit.

“I was just on my phone, just playing a game and I heard the whole house shake, like maybe it was an earthquake,” she said.

Witnesses say the driver was taken into custody.
