Trio Teamed up to Rob Long Island Gas Station: Police

Three people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Long Island gas station over the weekend.

Police say Jason Kroll, 32, Christopher Giardiello, 26, and Heather McCormack, 27, hatched a scheme to rob the Express Gas Station in Stewart Manor Saturday evening.

The trio asked a gas station attendant for help with their Jeep Cherokee, but while the attendant was outside with their vehicle, Giardiello went into the store.

When the attendant went back inside he found Giardiello with a knife and cash from the register, police said.

As Giardiello and the attendant struggled over the cash, Kroll came up and began choking the attendant. A second attendant came and was able to overpower Kroll and held him until police arrived.

Giardiello and McCormack took off after the robbery but were pulled over and arrested in Elmont later that evening.

Police say the three were also involved in a larceny at an OK Gas Station in neighboring Franklin Square late last month.

All three have been charged with robbery and grand larceny.

They were scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in Hempstead.
