Nursing Home Worker Allegedly Took Pic of Resident's Genitals, Sent to Friend

The 26-year-old certified nursing assistant is accused of sending the photo to a friend, who allegedly posted it on Facebook.

A 26-year-old New Jersey nursing home assistant and her friend have been charged with invasion of privacy for allegedly conspiring to take a photo of an elderly resident's genitals and posting it on Facebook, prosecutors said.

Helian Williams, then a certified assistant at CareOne in Livingston, and Michele Walker, 21, both of Newark, were charged with third-degree invasion of privacy and third-degree conspiracy, New Jersey Attorney General Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa said Thursday.

It wasn't immediately known if either woman had an attorney.

Prosecutors say Williams is accused of taking a photograph of the resident's genitals and sending the picture to Walker. Walker allegedly then posted the photograph on her Facebook page.

CareOne fired Williams after the alleged incident, prosecutors said.

"No one should be made to suffer humiliation, particularly at the hands of someone responsible for his or her care," Acting Insurance Fraud Prosecutor Ronald Chillemi said.

"The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is not only committed to investigating and prosecuting Medicaid fraud but also to protecting the dignity of the beneficiaries which the program serves, who are often the most vulnerable members of our population,” he added.
