Police are investigating after a man was shot to death Monday morning in Irvington, New Jersey.
The victim, identified as Tavaris L. Payne, was found unresponsive by police responding to a shooting call shortly after midnight on Lyons Avenue.
Payne was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:46 a.m., police said.
The Essex Country Prosecutor's Major Crime Task Force, including detectives from the Irvington Police Department, are investigating the shooting.
