A New Jersey man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for sexually abusing a girl for seven years, beginning when she was 10 years old, authorities said Wednesday.
Sergio Bognar, 49, was sentenced Tuesday on charges including aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office said in a release.
He is required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence - more than 14 years and five months - before he can be granted parole. After his relief he will be a registered sex offender and will be permanently placed under parole supervision.
The attacks happened in Sayreville between 2004 and 2011, when the girl's mother called authorities.
