A judge has sentenced a New Jersey man to 60 years in prison for fatally stabbing and dismembering a man who prosecutors say was his boyfriend.
Pedro Garcia, 38, of Cliffside Park listened as relatives of Francisco Gonzalez Fuentes spoke before he was sentenced Thursday.
Prosecutors argued that Garcia become enraged at Fuentes for telling guests at a party in 2011 that Garcia was his boyfriend. Garcia has denied a relationship.
Fuentes was stabbed to death in January 2011 and his body was cut up by Garcia and Wilfredo Sanchez and put in five garbage bags that were dumped in different locations.
Sanchez was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the killing.
