A 36-year-old New Jersey man has been accused of burning a 6-year-old with a lighter, authorities said.
Kareem hayes, was arested on Nov. 29 on aggravated assault and child endagerment charges, according to police in Toms River.
Police allege that Hyce used a lighter to burn the face of the 6-year-old in his care. The child had second- and third-degree burns to his face, neck and ear.
Hayes is being held at the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. Attorney information for the man wasn't immediately available.
